That's all for today, goodbye!

Italy win their second European Championships, their first since 1968, after finishing as runners-up in their previous two finals. This result also extends their unbeaten run to 34 matches in all competitions.

ITALY WIN THE EUROS! After a 1-1 draw in normal time with goals from Shaw and Bonucci, the game was taken to penalties. Pickford made two big saves to keep the hopes alive for his team in the shootout, but Rashford hit the post and Donnarumma made big saves to keep out both Sancho and Saka which won the game for his side.

FULL-TIME: ITALY 1-1 ENGLAND (ITALY WIN 3-2 ON PENALTIES).

SAVE! Another big save by Donnarumma as he pushes away Saka's spot-kick and he wins it for Italy! He tries to place it in the bottom right corner, but the keeper guesses right and gets two hands to it.

SAVE! Jorginho, who scored the decisive penalty against Spain, sees his effort saved! He does his trademark hop before hitting it, but Pickford waits, guesses right and pushes it away from the bottom corner.

SAVE! Sancho stutters his run-up just like Rashford, but his penalty is a comfortable height for Donnarumma. It's not in the corner and the keeper pushes it away.

3-2 ITALY! Cool as you like from Bernardeschi as he slots his penalty straight down the middle. Pickford dives to his right and can't keep it out.

OFF THE POST! Rashford takes his time before starting the run-up and stutters before trying to place it in the bottom corner. Donnarumma dives the wrong way but it bounces back off the bottom of the post.

2-2! It's a confident penalty from Bonucci, who just stops before taking the strike. Pickford takes a step before diving the right way, but the spot-kick is lifted over his head and out of reach.

2-1 ENGLAND! It's a brilliant penalty from Maguire as smashes his penalty into the top-right corner of the net. Donnarumma gets nowhere near it.

SAVE! Belotti curls his effort towards the bottom right corner, but Pickford gets down well to make a save and push it away from goal.

1-1! It's a good spot-kick from Kane and he whips it into the same corner as Berardi. Donnarumma went the right way, but he just couldn't get his hand to the ball.

1-0 ITALY! Italy are going first, with Berardi stepping up to the spot. He sends Pickford the wrong way, comfortably nestling his penalty into the bottom left corner.

Neither side could find a breakthrough so we're going to penalties in the Euro 2020 final after a 1-1 draw between Italy and England. Shaw put England ahead very early on but Bonucci equalised after tapping in from a corner in the second half. Bernardeschi saw a free-kick saved in extra time, with Phillips also having a good chance which he dragged wide. Italy go to penalties for the second game running, with Donnarumma making a big save in that game to help them to the win. For England, it's their first shootout in the tournament this year.

120'+3'

FULL-TIME: ITALY 1-1 ENGLAND.

120'+1'

England have a corner to defend after making those changes and it's a great cross in from Bernardeschi. It's flicked on at the near post, but there's no one following in at the back to tap it in.

120'

Walker also makes way, with Sancho on in his place.

120'

There's a double change for England now as Southgate starts to look forward to penalties. Henderson, who was brought on in the second half, goes off for Rashford.

118'

Final change for Italy now and it's Florenzi that's coming on for Emerson.

116'

It's Italy's turn to keep possession at the moment, but they're in no hurry to get themselves upfield. Emerson lifts the ball over the top to Bernardeschi, who takes the shot on the turn, but Stones makes another important block.

114'

Jorginho is shown a yellow card for that late challenge on Grealish.

113'

Grealish and Jorginho are both down here after the Italian midfielder stepped on Grealish's knee with his studs. They're both receiving treatment, and the Aston Villa captain isn't happy with that challenge.

112'

Italy are sitting deeper and just allowing England to keep the ball and patiently work their way upfield. Walker tries to switch play out to Grealish on the left when he can't get forward, but it's intercepted by Di Lorenzo.

110'

England are keeping the pressure on here and Grealish dances away from challenges on the edge of the box as he switches from left to right to pick out Sterling. He could've hit the cross first time but holds onto it and is dispossessed by Chiellini.

108'

Kane pulls away from Di Lorenzo on the edge of the box and turns to whip a great cross into the box. Stones throws himself forward to get on the end of it, but Donnarumma flaps at it and manages to get enough on it to take it away from Maguire behind him.

107'

SAVE! Bernardeschi steps up to take the free-kick through the middle. He's a long way out, but he goes for goal, drilling his shot around the wall. It's straight down the middle at Pickford though who parries it before holding onto it at the second attempt.

106'

Maguire is late as he catches Belotti from behind and he earns England's first yellow card of the game.

106'

Italy get us back underway at Wembley!

It's as we were at half-time in extra time, with Italy and England drawing 1-1. Just one good chance apiece for the sides, with Phillips dragging a long-range shot wide of Donnarumma's far post. At the other end, Insigne swung a great cross into the box for Bernardeschi, who couldn't make contact and Pickford pushes it away from goal.

105'+2'

HALF-TIME: ITALY 1-1 ENGLAND.

105'

Locatelli picks up the ball on the edge of the box, but England quickly get three players out to him. His first shot is blocked by Phillips and the midfielder is there again to stop his second attempt before clearing his lines.

103'

GOOD SAVE! Walker commits himself with the tackle and Insigne just steps past him on the left. He curls a great cross into the near post and Bernardeschi just misses it ahead of Pickford who then pushes it away with a strong hand.

101'

Shaw picks out Grealish with a good pass down the left and two Italy defenders are quickly over to him. He manages to flick it onto Saka, but his first touch is heavy and takes the ball straight out of play.

99'

Third change for England now and it's Mount that's going off as Grealish is brought onto the pitch.

97'

GOOD CHANCE! Shaw's corner is cleared, but the ball falls for Phillips just outside the box. He has time to take a touch before drilling it across the crowded box. Donnarumma sees it late, but it's always heading wide of the far post.

96'

Another change for Italy now and it's Verratti that's making way for Locatelli.

94'

All three major tournament finals at Wembley (World Cup and Euros) have now gone to extra time.

92'

Italy have picked up where they left off and are pushing forward, with Bernardeschi making a good run down the left. Emerson steps across to block Henderson behind him and England win a free-kick.

91'

And England get us back underway for extra time!

91'

Italy are making a change at the start of extra time and it's Belotti that's coming on for Insigne.

Mancini will be pleased with his team's reaction in the second half and will be hoping for more of the same in extra time. For England, it's a time to regroup after a tired looking performance, and they might benefit from a change or two to freshen things up.

So, we're going to extra time after a 1-1 draw between Italy and England. Shaw gave England the lead in just under two minutes when his half-volley caught out Donnarumma at his near post. The second half belonged to Italy though and Bonucci poked one in from a corner after Verratti's header was saved. Chiesa also had a couple of good chances, but it finishes level.

90'+7'

END OF 90 MINUTES: ITALY 1-1 ENGLAND.

90'+6'

Chiellini loses the ball and he ends up dragging Saka back by the neck of his shirt to try and win it back. He's shown a yellow card.

90'+4'

Italy are still keeping possession well here, but they're in no hurry to push upfield at the moment. They're happy to just keep it in front of England for the time being until Verratti's throughball is cut out by Walker.

90'+2'

Sterling wins a free-kick on the left and Shaw floats another good cross into the far post. It's headed back across the box by Maguire, but Stones can't bring it down under pressure from Bonucci.

90'

It's another good interception from Phillips in midfield and he's urging his team-mates upfield. He touches it onto Sterling, who has Shaw making an overlapping run but ends up slipping before he can move the ball on.

88'

The game is paused after someone runs onto the pitch and the stewards are trying to get them back off the field. Once that's sorted, Stones is given the drop ball and England are back in possession.

86'

Chiesa isn't able to carry on after that earlier ankle injury and Bernardeschi is brought on in his place.

84'

Phillips touches the ball away and Insigne catches him on the shin with his late tackle. He's the third Italian player to have his name taken by the referee.

82'

Chiesa stayed down after the challenge from Trippier and the medical team are on to give him some treatment on his ankle. He gingerly gets back to his feet to make his way slowly to the side of the pitch, but it looks like he's going to try and carry on for now.

80'

Saka's heavy touch gifts the ball to Chiesa and he makes a brilliant run down the left before cutting inside. He's nudged off the ball on the edge of the box by Trippier and England win it back.

78'

Italy's high press is causing England all sorts of problems and Maguire is trying to move his side upfield with another driving run. He carries it over the halfway line before being brought down by Di Lorenzo.

76'

It's still all Italy at the moment as they open up England's midfield and they're getting into good positions in the final third. Verratti tries to slot the ball through to Berardi, but Maguire is there to intercept it.

74'

Second change for England now and it's Rice that's making way for Henderson.

73'

GREAT CHANCE! It's a lovely pass over the top from Verratti and Berardi times his run perfectly to stay onside. He watches the ball as it drops over his shoulder before hitting it on the volley, but Pickford rushes off his line and makes himself big to put him off.

70'

England are making their first change of the game and it looks like they're switching to four at the back as Saka comes in to replace Trippier.

69'

Chiesa is causing England all sorts of problems here and he's switched out to the right to put a brilliant ball across the face of goal. None of the Italian players are there though and it bounces out on the far side.

Goal!
67'

BONUCCI EQUALISES! Insigne's corner is flicked on at the near post and Verratti heads it on goal at the back. Pickford makes a big save as he claws it against the post but Bonucci is following in to poke it past the keeper and into the back of the net. 1-1!

66'

England have dropped very deep in their own half as Italy keep the pressure on to find an equaliser. Chiesa swings a great cross in from the left and Maguire gets to it ahead of Insigne to head it out for a corner.

64'

SAVE! It's a good corner into the box from Mount and he picks out Stones in the middle. He doesn't get the best contact as he heads it onto his shoulder, but Donnarumma has to tip his effort over the crossbar.

62'

GREAT SAVE! Chiesa skips his way past three England defenders that are trying to crowd him off the ball in the box and he manages to open up the space for a shot. He keeps it low, but Pickford gets a strong hand to it to push it away.

61'

Rice makes another interception in the middle of the field before pushing forward through Italy's half. He's forced out onto the left by Jorginho before losing out to the midfielder.

59'

In Italy's record 33-game unbeaten run coming into tonight's final, they had trailed for only 44 minutes in total. The Azzurri were behind for 43 of the opening 45 minutes against England.

57'

SAVE! It's a good passage of play for Italy as Chiesa drives forward down the left. His low cross takes a deflection off Trippier but still falls for Insigne. He has a go from a very tight angle near the byline, but Pickford is there to push it away.

56'

Shaw swings another good cross into the box from a free-kick for England and he picks out Maguire on the edge of the six-yard box. He rises above everyone but thumps his header over the crossbar.

55'

It's a late tackle through the back of Sterling by Bonucci and he doesn't get near the ball which earns him a booking.

55'

Immobile is also being taken off, with Berardi on to replace him.

54'

There's a double change for Italy now and Barella is the first to make way, with Cristante on in his place.

53'

Emerson is allowed to carry the ball a long way down the left before he eventually touches it out to Insigne on the overlap. He cuts inside, skipping away from Walker before having a wild shot that flies well wide of the far post.

51'

CLOSE! It's Insigne that steps up to take the free-kick he won just outside the D and he curls his effort around the outside of the wall towards the far post. It doesn't trouble Pickford though and it's always flying wide.

50'

Sterling clatters into the back of Insigne just outside the D to try and win the ball back and Italy have a free-kick in a dangerous position through the middle.

48'

Shaw slots the ball through for Sterling and he drives past two Italian defenders to get to the edge of the six-yard box. He takes a heavy touch before being bundled to ground and there are loud shouts ringing out for a penalty, but nothing's given.

47'

Barella clips the back of Kane's heels in his attempts to win the ball and is shown the first yellow card of the game.

46'

England get us back underway for the second half!

Half

Southgate will be pleased with his side's performance so far, especially at the back as they've been solid defensively after taking the early lead. They haven't had a shot since the goal though which he will want to change. Italy looked frustrated for most of the first half and Mancini might be thinking of tweaking something to get his team back into the game.

Half

England got off to a perfect start and lead Italy 1-0 at half-time. It took just under two minutes for England to take the lead after a quick break which started and ended with Shaw. He was at the far post to tuck Trippier's cross in on the half-volley. Italy had a few half-chances with Chiesa drilling a low effort just wide before Stones made an important block to deny Immobile.

45'+5'

HALF-TIME: ITALY 0-1 ENGLAND.

45'+3'

Shaw slips the ball through to Mount on the left and he lays it off to Sterling on the edge of the box. He doesn't have any space for a shot, so tries to tee up Kane, but Bonucci is there to cut it out again.

46'

CHANCE! It's a good cross in from Di Lorenzo on the right to pick out Immobile in the middle and he hits it first time on the volley. Stones makes an important block before Pickford makes a comfortable save to deny Verratti on the follow-up.

45'

Emerson cuts inside from the left and a clever piece of footwork has Walker committing to a tackle. The left-back tries to skip past Trippier next, but he just can't pick out space for a cross into the box.

43'

Italy's frustration is starting to show and Emerson takes a short throw-in to Insigne high on the left. His first touch lets him down though and he ends up knocking it straight out of play for a goal-kick.

41'

Mount loses the ball but he quickly tracks back to try and win it back for England. He touches it away from Chiesa but ends up fouling Barella. The free-kick is swung in from the right, but it's headed away by Stones.

39'

Insigne makes another driving run through the middle after picking the ball up on the halfway line and has Immobile ahead of him. The forward sets off too early though and the offside flag goes up against him.

37'

Shaw holds off Barella on the left before drilling a low cross through Di Lorenzo's legs into the box. Mount just can't get the contact he needs to flick it past Bonucci, and Emerson is there to clear his lines at the far post.

35'

CLOSE! The referee plays the advantage when Chiesa is tugged back by Rice and he carries on his run. He skips past another challenge before getting into a pocket of space just outside the box and ends up dragging his shot just wide of the near post.

34'

Kane does well to glance it onto Sterling, who threads it through to Mount before curving his run into the middle of the box. Mount doesn't have the angle for a shot, so tries to square it to him, but it's cut out by Bonucci.

32'

Jorginho touches it into Insigne and he makes a driving run through the middle to get to the edge of the box. He tries to play a one-two with Verratti but ends up gifting the ball to Rice instead.

30'

Italy are keeping the ball well, but all of their possession is in front of England at the moment. They're playing short passes until Bonucci goes long to Chiesa, but Shaw is there and he heads it clear.

28'

Verratti finds himself in a pocket of space in the middle and he slots the ball through to Insigne. The space opens up ahead of him and despite being a long way out, he goes for goal but drags his shot well wide.

26'

England are enjoying a good spell of possession and Walker goes long when he spots Trippier in space down the right again. He set off too early though and the flag goes up as soon as he brings the ball down.

24'

Chiesa makes another good run down the right and pulls away from Shaw to drill a low cross into the middle. Immobile is running to the far post, but Rice is back for England to hook it clear. Jorginho is back on the field.

22'

Jorginho has gone down holding his knee and he looks to be in a bit of pain. The medical team have given him some treatment, but when they get him to the side of the field, they sit him down again to carry on.

20'

Kane has dropped deep to get on the ball again and he has three Italian defenders around him trying to win the ball back. It looks like he's pulled away, but Chiellini trips him and England win a free-kick.

18'

Bonucci switches play out to Insigne on the left and he lets it bounce before swinging a cross into the box first time for Immobile to chase. Maguire gets there ahead of him though and makes another clearance.

16'

Italy are on the attack again, but they're struggling to find a way through England's compact midfield. Eventually, Jorginho goes long, picking out Emerson over the left, but Walker dispossesses him just as the offside flag goes up.

14'

Shaw touches the ball through to Mount, who makes an overlapping run on the left. He cuts inside to get into the box, but Jorginho slides in to block him and give away a corner, which comes to nothing.

12'

At 01:57, England's opener is the fastest goal ever scored from the start of a European Championship final. It surpasses Pereda's strike for Spain v Soviet Union (05:04).

10'

Walker threads a good pass into Trippier on the right and he plays a first-time cross onto the edge of the six-yard box. Sterling is running onto it through the middle, but Chiellini gets there just ahead of him to block it.

8'

CHANCE! Chiesa wins a free-kick just outside the box and it's Insigne that steps up to take it for Italy. He curls his shot over England's wall, but there's no dip on the shot and it sails high over the crossbar.

6'

England are sitting back deep in their own half as Italy keep the pressure on here and Chiesa cuts inside from the right after he can't find a way past Shaw. He runs straight into Phillips though and he clears the danger.

4'

Italy are pushing to get an instant reply here but Verratti's throughball is cut out by Rice on the edge of the box. He touches it out to Mount and Jorginho uses his hand in his attempts to win it back.

2'

Trippier took a touch to set himself before swinging a wonderful cross into the far post for Shaw to get on the end of.

Goal!
2'

ENGLAND LEAD! They break quickly on the counter after an Italian corner and it's started and finished by Shaw. It's worked from left to right and Trippier swings a cross into Shaw. He hits it first time past Donnarumma at his near post to net his first international goal and give England a 1-0 lead!

1'

It's Italy that get the Euro 2020 final underway at Wembley!

The teams are out on the pitch, the national anthems have been sung, and kick-off is just moments away!

This is Italy's 10th major tournament final (six World Cup and four Euros), with only Germany (14) having played more among European nations. Italy won the European Championship in 1968, but have lost their subsequent two final appearances in the competition (2000 and 2012).

Just one change from Gareth Southgate to the team that started against Denmark. England revert to a back three, with Trippier coming in at right wing-back. Saka starts on the bench.

Roberto Mancini was clearly pleased with his side's performance against Spain as he names an unchanged team to the one that started on Tuesday.

ENGLAND SUBS: Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Conor Coady, Reece James, Jack Grealish, Marcus Rashford, Sam Johnstone, Jordan Henderson, Jadon Sancho, Tyrone Mings, Aaron Ramsdale, Jude Bellingham, Bukayo Saka.

ENGLAND STARTING XI (3-4-2-1): Jordan Pickford; Kyle Walker, John Stones, Harry Maguire; Kieran Trippier, Kalvin Phillips, Declan Rice, Luke Shaw; Mason Mount, Raheem Sterling; Harry Kane.

ITALY SUBS: Domenico Berardi, Federico Bernardeschi, Alessandro Bastoni, Bryan Cristante, Alessandro Florenzi, Rafael Toloi, Alex Meret, Andrea Belotti, Manuel Locatelli, Francesco Acerbi, Matteo Pessina, Salvatore Sirigu.

ITALY STARTING XI (4-3-3): Gianluigi Donnarumma; Giovanni Di Lorenzo, Leonardo Bonucci, Giorgio Chiellini, Emerson; Nicolo Barella, Jorginho, Marco Verratti; Federico Chiesa, Ciro Immobile, Lorenzo Insigne.

It's England first-ever appearance at the final of the European Championships and their first final at a major tournament since winning the 1966 World Cup. It took extra time to see off Denmark, with a goal from Harry Kane sealing a 2-1 win to get them through. As for Italy, they were taken to penalties by Spain after a 1-1 draw at the end of extra time and Jorginho netted the decisive penalty to win the shootout 4-2. They're now unbeaten in their last 33 games in all competitions, a run that started all the way back in October 2018.

Hello and welcome to live coverage of the Euro 2020 final between Italy and England at Wembley Stadium!
