Commentary

That's all for today. Until next time, goodbye!

Roberto Martinez is likely to rest players when Belgium face Finland in their final Group B match on Monday. Meanwhile, Denmark must beat Russia to have any chance of progressing to the knockout phase.

Belgium are the second team through to the knockout stages of Euro 2020 after coming from behind to beat Denmark at the Parken Stadium. Trailing to Yussuf Poulsen's early strike, substitute Kevin De Bruyne inspired the turnaround. First, the Manchester City maestro set up the equaliser for Thorgan Hazard, before scoring the winner to send his nation through to the last 16 with a game to spare.

90'+6'

FULL-TIME: DENMARK 1-2 BELGIUM

90'+5'

Well blocked! With Schmeichel forward for the free-kick, Belgium clear and break. Meunier takes aim from just inside the Danish half, but Skov Olsen makes up good ground to block.

90'+4'

Belgium run down the clock with Thorgan Hazard making way for Thomas Vermaelen.

90'+4'

Thorgan Hazard is booked for a rash challenge on Skov Olsen. Denmark have a free-kick and this could be their last chance.

90'+2'

A long ball forward is flicked on into the Belgian penalty area. However, it is just beyond the reach of Cornelius and Courtois collects.

90'+1'

We are into the first of five additional minutes at the end of this game.

90'

Jensen lets fly from the edge of the box. There is plenty of power in his effort, but it goes over the bar.

89'

Denmark pressing as we enter the final minute of regulation time. Can they find a dramatic equaliser at the Parken Stadium?

87'

OFF THE BAR! Olsen involved immediately with impressive trickery to beat his man before delivering an inviting cross. Braithwaite meets it, but his header hits the woodwork.

84'

Vestergaard is replaced by Andreas Skov Olsen for Denmark.

84'

WHISKERS AWAY! A dangerous ball is whipped right across the face of the Belgium goal. Braithwaite is sliding in, but is just unable to provide the vital touch.

82'

Jensen has his name taken for a foul on Tielemans.

81'

Following Eden Hazard's assist for the second Belgium strike, he and De Bruyne are the first pair of substitutes to both lay on goals for the same side at this competition since Arjen Robben and Robin van Persie did so for the Netherlands against France in 2008.

79'

A goal and an assist for De Bruyne since his introduction. Indeed, he is the first second-half substitute to do that at the European Championship since Fernando Torres for Spain against Italy in the 2012 final.

77'

Denmark threaten the equaliser after Braithwaite's shot is deflected over. But Belgium can relax as Courtois punches a dangerous ball clear.

75'

He's human! Following another dangerous Belgian attack, the ball breaks kindly into the path of De Bruyne. But his first-time left-footed effort is a tame one and easy for Schmeichel to gather.

72'

Andreas Cornelius is also introduced with Damsgaard making way.

72'

Denmark turn straight to the bench with Mathias Jensen replacing Delaney.

70'

Following a neat exchange with Tielemans, Eden Hazard laid the ball off for De Bruyne to complete the turnaround.

Goal!
70'

DE BRUYNE!!! 2-1 BELGIUM! The Red Devils have turned the match on its head, and this man has made the difference! Another delightful goal from Belgium with Lukaku, Tielemans and Eden Hazard all involved in a neat exchange of passes before the ball is teed up for De Bruyne, who beats Schmeichel with a superb low strike into the left corner.

69'

Poor from Damsgaard, who dives over the challenge of Meunier in a desperate attempt to earn a penalty for Denmark. The referee is unimpressed and swiftly brandishes a yellow card in his direction.

68'

Interestingly, Belgium have only topped their group once in their four previous appearances at this stage of the European Championship. That came back in 1980 - the year they went on to reach the final - and the Red Devils will hope that serves as a good omen in 2021.

66'

As we approach the final quarter of this game, the entire complexion of it has changed since Belgium's equaliser. The Red Devils very much look the side more likely to grab the third goal of this game.

64'

De Bruyne is also the only European player to assist a goal in each of the last four major international tournaments. What a player he really is!

62'

Wass also makes way to be replaced by Stryger Larsen.

62'

Also a double change for Denmark. The first sees Poulsen make way for Christian Norgaard.

61'

De Bruyne's assist for Belgium's goal was his eighth at major tournament finals since his World Cup debut in 2014. No European player has registered more during that time period.

59'

Axel Witsel is also introduced with Dendoncker making way.

59'

A double change for Belgium. The first sees Eden Hazard replace Carrasco.

59'

Wass receives the first yellow card of the game for a foul on Meunier.

56'

Belgium are demonstrating why they are the top-ranked nation in the world. Far from their best so far today, they have capitalised on a sniff of an opportunity and set up an exciting second half.

Goal!
54'

HAZARD!!! 1-1! A lovely equaliser by Belgium. With their first meaningful attack of the game, the Red Devils embark on a devastating counter with Lukaku leading the charge. He cuts the ball back to the edge of the box, where De Bruyne calmly steps away from a challenge before putting it on a plate for Thorgan Hazard to tuck home from close range.

54'

With his first involvement since coming on, De Bruyne demonstrated his brilliance with a terrific square ball for Hazard to finish.

53'

Of course, time is still very much on Belgium's side, but they are in danger of suffering a first defeat in 11 games having won eight of their previous 10.

51'

Should this scoreline remain, all four teams in Group B would be locked on three points; setting up an exciting climax on Monday with only the top two guaranteed a place in the last 16.

49'

At the other end, Meunier attacks Tielemans' inviting ball into the box. But the full-back does not connect accordingly and the chance goes begging.

48'

Space opens for Delaney to try his luck from distance. However, the midfielder drags his low effort well wide of the target.

46'

We're off and running again as Belgium kick off the second half.

46'

Martinez decides it is time to introduce Kevin De Bruyne. The Manchester City maestro makes his return from injury with Mertens making way.

Half

Having registered just a single shot during the first half of a game for only the second time under Martinez, Belgium will be seeking a response in the second half. There is no doubting the quality that the Red Devils possess, but they must demonstrate it upon the resumption of this contest.

Half

Denmark hold a deserved half-time lead over Belgium at the Parken Stadium. Less than two minutes had elapsed when Yussuf Poulsen broke the deadlock for the home side, who have produced an inspired performance so far in honour of the absent Christian Eriksen.

45'+2'

HALF-TIME: DENMARK 1-0 BELGIUM

45'+1'

We are going to have a single additional minute at the end of this first half.

44'

Carrasco's delivery is a disappointing one as it is too high for his team-mates in the box. Denmark can relax once more.

43'

A good opportunity for Belgium, who have been awarded a free-kick around 35 yards from goal. Carrasco is stood over the ball.

41'

A quiet game for Belgium so far, but a big shout out to Mertens. The Napoli forward earns his 100th international cap; becoming the Red Devils' fifth centurion after Vertonghen, Witsel, Alderweireld and Eden Hazard.

39'

Martinez is one victory away from equalling Guy Thys' all-time Belgium record for wins in major competitions. His side will certainly have to up their game if he is to achieve that today.

37'

You must go back to the fourth minute for Belgium's only shot on goal in this game. The Red Devils have not been at the races at all so far.

35'

Not far off! Damsgaard embarks on a jinking run into the area and looks for the far corner. Although, it drifts fractionally wide of the post with Courtois beaten.

34'

Speaking of Schmeichel, his father Peter famously made his mark when the two nations met at this stadium in a friendly prior to Euro 2000. The former Manchester United stopper scored his only international goal from the penalty spot in a 2-2 draw.

32'

Belgium enjoy a rare venture forward and are awarded a corner, which is swung into the box from the left. But Schmeichel is alert and punches the delivery to safety.

30'

It is worth noting that after just one minute and 39 seconds, the opening goal was the second-fastest in European Championship finals history. The record is still held by Russia's Dmitry Kirichenko, who found the net after just 65 seconds of their win over eventual champions Greece at Euro 2004.

28'

Wanting the second goal to consolidate their lead, Denmark send a free-kick into the box, but it is neatly dealt with by Belgium.

26'

Space opens for Wass to try his luck from distance. However, his ambitious long-range effort is always rising and Courtois watches it over the bar.

25'

The Belgians aim to put a neat passing move together. But their attempt to build momentum is halted by a stray pass and the home fans cheer as their team regain possession.

23'

Belgium yet to fire as we pass the midway point in this first half. So comfortable during their opening win over Russia, they are still to settle into their rhythm here.

20'

Denmark's early dominance on proceedings is demonstrated by the fact they have already had six shots on goal, with Belgium registering just one. However, the Danes must look to press home this advantage while in the ascendancy.

18'

Maehle has been lively inside the opening 18 minutes here, enjoying 21 touches of the ball. Only Hojbjerg has had more so far.

16'

A good move down the left flank sees Maehle deliver a cross that is met by Braithwaite at the near post. But under pressure from a defender, he is unable to direct his header towards goal.

14'

Champions in 1992, Denmark have only reached the European Championship knockout stages once in their four appearances since then. A victory here would certainly strengthen their chances of reaching the last 16 of this tournament.

12'

Their minds were more than likely elsewhere, but Saturday's reverse against Finland was only Denmark's third defeat in 29 matches. It was also the first time in 12 games that they failed to score, so they arrived at the finals in good form.

10'

A poignant moment as play stops in the 10th minute with everyone inside the Parken Stadium applauding in honour of Eriksen. Currently recovering at a nearby hospital, the midfielder would almost certainly have heard the rapturous ovation he received.

8'

There were questions around how Denmark would fare following a hugely difficult few days. But Hjulmand will be delighted with the start his players have made here.

6'

Another chance for Denmark as Wass meets a deep cross at the far post. His header is on target, but easy enough for Courtois to gather.

5'

Square it! Denmark continue their purposeful start to the game and go in search of a second. Maehle embarks on a jinking run into the area and Braithwaite is waiting for a tap-in. However, he opts to go alone and shoots straight at Courtois. For a bit more composure, the Danes could have had breathing space.

4'

Belgium look to respond immediately and Tielemans' cross is flicked on by Mertens. However, Schmeichel is alert and gathers.

2'

Great anticipation and awareness by Hojbjerg. The Tottenham midfielder was quickly onto Denayer's loose pass, before setting the chance up for Poulsen.

Goal!
2'

POULSEN!!! 1-0 DENMARK! What a start for the Danes! And what a calamity for Belgium. Denayer's loose pass out of defence is pounced on by Hojbjerg, who neatly threads the ball into Poulsen. The striker takes a touch to set himself, before drilling a low shot beyond the dive of Courtois.

1'

Referee Bjorn Kuipers blows the whistle and Denmark get us underway.

The teams are out on the pitch, with Denmark receiving a guard of honour in support of Eriksen. We will now observe the national anthems.

Belgium recently did the double over Denmark when they clashed in the Nations League. Although, the Danes prevailed in their only previous European Championship encounter, coming from 2-0 down to win 3-2 during the 1984 group stages.

As for Belgium, Roberto Martinez also makes two changes following the commanding 3-0 win over Russia. Jason Denayer and Thomas Meunier are recalled to the starting line-up. Meanwhile, there is a welcome return to the bench for Kevin De Bruyne following his recovery from a facial fracture sustained in Manchester City's Champions League final defeat by Chelsea. Axel Witsel is also named among the substitutes after an Achilles problem.

Kasper Hjulmand has made two changes from Denmark's opening defeat by Finland. Jannik Vestergaard and Mikkel Damsgaard come into the team in place of Jonas Wind and Christian Eriksen, who thankfully continues to recover in hospital from the horrifying cardiac arrest he suffered on Saturday.

SUBS: Simon Mignolet, Dennis Praet, Dedryck Boyata, Eden Hazard, Christian Benteke, Thomas Vermaelen, Kevin De Bruyne, Leandro Trossard, Axel Witsel, Michy Batshuayi, Jeremy Doku, Matz Sels.

BELGIUM: Thibaut Courtois; Toby Alderweireld, Jason Denayer, Jan Vertonghen; Thomas Meunier, Leander Dendoncker, Youri Tielemans, Thorgan Hazard; Dries Mertens, Romelu Lukaku, Yannick Carrasco.

SUBS: Jonal Lossl, Mathias Jensen, Andreas Cornelius, Frederik Ronnow, Robert Skov, Kasper Dolberg, Christian Norgaard, Joachim Andersen, Jonas Wind, Andreas Skov Olsen, Jen Stryger Larsen, Zanka.

DENMARK (4-3-3): Kasper Schmeichel; Andreas Christensen, Simon Kjaer, Jannik Vestergaard, Joakim Maehle; Daniel Wass, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Thomas Delaney; Yussuf Poulsen, Mikkel Damsgaard, Martin Braithwaite.

Victory for Belgium at the Parken Stadium would book their place in the knockout stages with a game to spare. Meanwhile, defeat would not yet eliminate Denmark, but they would require results to go their way to have any chance of progressing.
